Stillness Held Fleeting

Presenting my digital illustration/painting and personal interpretation of Silent Hill f's Shimizu Hinako, played wonderfully by Konatsu Kato! 37.5 hours, give or take, approximated from my time-lapse footage of the process... a thousand times over WORTH IT!

While not the best, most accurate 1-to-1 piece I've done in terms of capturing a character's face, I do think I managed to nail down what mattered to me most with this project. And that would be the visceral, horrifying, yet beautifully haunting and cerebral atmosphere and nature of the game... an unpleasant presence you can't escape from yet a feeling you so deeply desire and eventually grow weirdly fond of... something that both frees you and locks you in a trance.

I wanted that to matter with this piece, and I hope I was able to put even an ounce of that in this for you all to witness. Seriously, highly recommend Silent Hill f to anyone that's open to a profound experience if you're willing to dive deeper than a single playthrough and immerse yourself into the minds of the characters through the cutscenes, world, lore, and everything in between. Solid combat gameplay on higher difficulties, as well, if you know how to flow and dance with it. Same goes with its narrative. My advice... don't think that one perspective is enough to seal the point the game is going for, and do take note of the importance and weight of multiple playthroughs.

Silent Hill f is one of those experiences that immediately goes up there as some of my favorite games of all time, not a shadow of a doubt with that. And, with all that said, I do hope y'all appreciate how this personal piece turned out!

Cheers, and God bless!!!
